REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR CANADA

PEBC or Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada is the body that oversees the registration and licensure for pharmacists in Canada. Registration eligibility for B Pharm, M Pharm and Pharm D certified candidates.

STEP 1 – Credential Verification

STEP 2 – Complete the IELTS exam in India

STEP 3 – Complete the Pharmacist Evaluating Examination

STEP 4 – Internship as Pharmacy Technician (1000 hrs) on completing the Evaluating Exam

STEP 5 – Complete a 2 Part Qualifying Examination Part 1 (MCQ) Part 2 (OSCE – Objective Structured Clinical Examination)

STEP 6 – Complete the Jurisprudence Examination for the Province chosen

STEP 7 – Register as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council

 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Language requirements are based on clearing of either the Occupational English Test (OET) with a score of ‘A’ or ‘B’ in all four elements or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall Band score of 7 (with a minimum score of 6.5 in each of the four components). The OET or IELTS is an essential requirement for enrolment into the Stage I examination

 

Know about STAGE I EXAMINATION (PEBC)

The Evaluating PEBC exam is created to test if a candidate has the same level of knowledge as per the current pharmaceutical education in Canada. Pharmacist Evaluating Examination is a multiple-choice exam that tests the knowledge in various areas of pharmacy

Biomedical Science – 15%

Pharmaceutical Science – 25%

Pharmacy Practice – 50%

Behavioural, Social and Administrative Pharmacy Science – 10%

The Evaluating PEBC exam has 300 multiple choice questions and the passing mark is 60%. Applicants can attempt the exams only three times. The examinations are conducted in the months of January and July every year.

 

 

 

 

Know about STAGE II EXAMINATION

The Qualifying Examination or Stage II PEBC Exam is a two part examination

Part 1 is a written computerizeMCQ examination while Part 2 is called OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination). This is a practical and oral segment covering the practice of pharmacy and must be endeavoured in the state/territory in which the supervised practice was undertaken.The examination is held in Canada.

 

About the INTERNSHIP

Apply to the Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (PRA) in the province or territory you wish to work in. Each Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (PRA) requires the candidate to complete a training program in a licensed pharmacy. Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (PRA) will then confirm if you have successfully completed all of the requirements to be licensed.
