PLAB EXAMS FOR IRELAND

Doctor jobs in Ireland require that you pass the PLAB test in order to secure your job as a Doctor in the Best Hospitals in Ireland. There are 2 parts to the examination (PLAB1 & OSCE) and the test is setup to gauge you as a physician and your aptness in the application of knowledge, concepts, principles and patient care skills. PLAB 1 is a 200 MCQ test that lasts 3 hours and requires 50% to pass. You can choose to appear for the PLAB1 exam in India (5 centres). The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a clinical test that is held thrice a week in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR MBBS GRADS IN IRELAND

IMC or Irish Medical Council is the body that oversees the registration and licensure for MBBS grads in Ireland.

STEP 1 – Clear the IELTS with an overall score of 7.5 Bands & individual score of 7 Bands each

STEP 2 – PLAB1 (Professional Linguistic Assessment Board) test. (Option to write in India)

STEP 3 – OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Exam) conducted in Dublin, Cork and Galway

STEP 4 – Register with IMC for licensure and certificate verification

STEP 5 – Start work as a General Practitioner

 

PLAB1 TEST DATES

PLAB1 tests are conducted in the month March and November. This test is held at centres in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

OSCE is conducted 3 times a week through the year (failing will require you to repeat PLAB1). The exams are conducted in Dublin, Cork and Galway

The best time to commence the registration process is: The last week of November and the first week of May.
